He began his career in radio in 1986, in Cadena SER, collaborating in numerous programs, among them La verbena de La Moncloa. In 1995 he made the leap to RNE, where he has remained until the present, collaborating in El gran carnaval, Buenos días and El tranvía with Luis Figuerola Ferretti. These programs were initially directed, at various stages, by Julio César Iglesias.
In television it is worth mentioning his time as director and co-host of El Informal (1998-2002) on Telecinco, which definitively launched him to fame, Ya es viernes…o no (2003) on Antena 3, as well as the general culture contests Madrid reta (2003-2004) and Metro a Metro (2004-2007) on Telemadrid.

With a degree in Economics, Capitan resigned from his position as Deputy Director of Strategic Marketing at Repsol to try his luck as a radio presenter. He thus discovered a natural gift for moving within the audiovisual medium that has been recognized by the sector with a dozen awards, including two Ondas, two Antenas de Oro and three TP de Oro, received individually or as director of a creative team.

In radio he began his activity in Cadena SER («La verbena de La Moncloa», «Hoy por hoy») and currently collaborates in RNE («El gran carnaval», «Buenos días» and «La ola»).
