Once the presentations were finished, the winning chefs of previous editions were introduced, explaining each one of their tapas and going on to their subsequent tasting. Brothers Luis and Javier Carcas from Casa Pedro presented a subtle and delicious cannelloni of black and painted trumpet with mushroom sauce; Adrián and Pedro Armingol from Don Pascual restaurant presented a cone of rice pasta with cream cheese patamulo, tomato from Zaragoza, borage from Aragón and false caviar; Jorge García and Adam Val from Marengo Bar & Deli maki of Iberian ham, Fuentes onion and natural tomato with rocoto; Michel Velasco from Casa Juanico a trompe l’oeil consisting of ‘cod egg’ stuffed with brandade, pumpkin cream and honey caviar and Raquel Marcén from Méli-Mélo cold meat of veal tongue with scamorza and roasted bacon.
The XXII edition of the Contest, divided into three phases that will begin in the different neighborhoods and districts of the Aragonese capital, will end with a grand finale in which the best proposals, chosen by the citizens and by a professional jury, will compete for the honor of being the best tapa of Zaragoza. In the first phase, to be held in the second week of November, the protagonism will be for the neighborhoods and districts of Zaragoza.

The Live Spider Crab Contest of this edition that took place in the market last November 25th, counted with the participation of 6 pieces -5 females and 1 male-. The best female king crab weighed 2,100 kg and was presented by José María Meis Vila from the Edi boat; and the male king crab, which reached 4,450 kg, was presented by Guillermo Martínez Rey from the Pontes boat. The winners received 150 euros.
The following day, on Wednesday, November 26th, the auction of these crab was celebrated in the municipal market, firstly for the female crab that started from 50 euros and reached 110 euros offered by José Luis Padín Noya, owner of the Solaina Seafood Shops.
On the other hand, the male crab started from 60 euros and reached 125 euros, in this case who bid up to that amount was Lorena Moldes, owner of the Pan de Millo Restaurant. The total of the amount collected with this donation will be donated to Caritas.
